instituted two innovations in the ceremony. In San Francisco, Rabbi
Rudolph Coffee partook of the meal with 500 Jews and Christians. In
Manhattan while Rabbi Saul Appelbaum and six of his congregation ate,
the ceremonial meal was telecast.
