>Adopted Pat Harrison's resolution to investigate the Roosevelt Budget, with particular reference to new taxes for National Defense (and sent the resolution to expected death in the House).

The House:

>Passed and sent to the Senate the Gavagan anti-lynching bill (see p. 18).

>Voted $264,611,252 in supplemental appropriations for National Defense; in committee, took up bills to appropriate $2,100,000,000 more to the Army and Navy (see below).
