Sport: Stanley Cup: Apr. 22, 1935

In Montreal, the Montreal Maroons, famed as the best defensive team in the National Hockey League, last week skated out to play the third game of the final series for the Stanley Cup against the Toronto Maple Leafs. Overcautious because they had already lost the first two games, the Maple Leafs started slowly. The Maroons started fast, finished faster. When the game was over, they had the Stanley Cup and the world's championship, 4-to-1.
