To help readers distinguish between war news and war propaganda last week Manchester Boddy's enterprising Los Angeles Daily News and Evening News adopted a system of labeling European dispatches. The Daily News used alphabetical symbols. OP stood for "official propaganda," SA meant "seems authentic," "V" meant "verified." Over foreign cables in the Evening News were drawings of a key bearing the same words written out.
