> Withdrawing Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs from circulation in the U. S., Walt Disney announced that in the 16 months since its release it had grossed $6,740,000, $1,740,000 more than the previous box-office record established by Al Jolson (see below) in his early part-talkie, The Singing Fool. Snow White earned back its $1,700,000 cost in four months.
