> For five years Ma Lester, in Tobacco Road, has said to her rapscallion husband : "You're a sinful man, Jeeter Lester, and you're going to Hell." Claiming that he had her fired for refusing to shout "Hell" at the top of her lungs, Ann Dere, who had played Ma for two years, sued James Barton (Jeeter) for $25,000.
