While the Senate was last week passing the $1,156,000,000 Navy Expansion Bill which authorizes
3 battleships 2 aircraft carriers 9 light cruisers 23 destroyers 9 submarines 26 auxiliaries and 950 airplanes,
the Boston Navy Yard was forced to default a rowing race against the U. S. Coast Guard in Boston Harbor. Reason: The Navy had no rowboat.
