Two years ago inquisitive Edward Yarnall Hartshorne, a young graduate student at the University of Chicago, went to Germany to see what had happened to higher education under Adolf Hitler. He asked so many questions that when he returned to the U. S., the Nazi Foreign Office kept an eye on him.
