France. Last week Premier Camille Chautemps softened up, permitted
Chancellor Adolf Hitler to establish one at Epinal, 50 miles southwest
of Strasbourg near Alsace-Lorraine. Indignant Epinal residents
complained: "It will be nothing but a nest of spies!"
