Since 1929, however, the Ringlings have never forgotten that the late John Ringling's purchase of the Hagenbeck-Wallace Circus, Al G. Barnes Amusement Co., Sells-Floto Circus Co., John Robinson Shows, and Sparks Circus Co., was swung with the help of a $1,700,000 loan which eventually cost him a 10% interest in his circus....
