¶ Though William Chapman Potter has been a banker since 1912. he started out as a mining engineer, ran Guggenheim affairs in Mexico for two years. He was elected president of Guaranty Trust Co. in 1921, chairman of the board in 1934. Last week the Federal Reserve Bank of New York announced that he had been elected a director, succeeding George W. Davison, chairman of Central Hanover Bank & Trust Co.
