In Manhattan last week Revenue agents had a new experience. Nothing new to them was sending six Harlem Negroes to jail for bootlegging. New, however, was the evidence on which the 'leggers were convicted. Exhibited for the jury was a unique liquor sold wholesale at $7 for a five gallon tin, retail at a nickel a pony. According to the thoroughgoing New York Times, it was colored with orange peel and possessed "an aromatic bouquet with a heavier underlying odor like that of tobacco steeped in water."
