In Hollywood, Calif., Mrs. St. Louis Estes took time out from her housework to give birth to her eleventh child, a glb. girl. Two hours later she drove herself to a Los Angeles radio station, gave a lecture on child bearing and rearing. Mrs. Estes' 72-year-old husband is a lecturer on health (TIME, Dec. 17, 1934). The Estes family eats only raw fruits, nuts, raw vegetables. All the children—five girls and six boys—are tutored at home, usually wear only loin cloth or trunks, seldom leave the Estes estate.
