The Senate:

¶ Adopted a resolution for joint Congressional investigation of wealthy taxpayers as amended by the House to prevent Treasury officials from carrying on a public scandal-hunt in the absence of Congressmen (TIME, June 14).

The House:

¶ Adopted resolution extending for two years expiring nuisance taxes (including 3¢ postage) which yield about $600,000,000 a year revenue. Sent it to the Senate.

¶ Passed a bill i) for the deportation of criminal aliens (for crimes such as gun-toting) that are not deportable offenses under present law, 2) to permit the Secretary of Labor...
