Summoned for jury duty in Omaha last week, one Owen B. Gordon, Negro, Missouri Pacific roundhouse fireman, asked District Judge John W. Yeager to excuse him. "I've been working nights for 27 years and the daylight hurts my eyes. I'm afraid I'll go to sleep in the middle of a case."
Replied the judge: "You won't be the first one. We'll take a chance."
