In Los Angeles in 1926 Brothers Allan and Malcolm Loughead incorporated as Lockheed Aircraft Co. because people mispronounced their name as "loghead." The Lockheed Vega presently rolled off their line, first of a series of single-motored speedsters which set many a record. In 1933 Lockheed developed the fast, twin-motored, ten-passenger Electra, which immediately became as much the darling of little airlines as the 14-passenger Douglas DC2 simultaneously became of big.
