"Plow it under!" advised Colonel Frank Knox's Chicago Daily News last week as the cheesemaking farmers of Green County gathered at tiny (pop. 644) Monticello, Wis. to do something about their 1,000,000-lb. limburger surplus, which was threatening to knock the bottom out of the limburger market (now 15ยข per lb.). Source of three-fourths of the nation's annual 11,000,000-lb. of limburger supply, Green County's farmers did not take the News's suggestion. Instead they declared a holiday.
