¶ After serving nine years on the board of governors, Thaddeus Reamy ("Brick") Benson, 51, was elected president of the Chicago Stock Exchange to succeed Michael J. O'Brien, a local partner of Paine, Webber & Co., who had held the post thrice. White-haired President Benson got his start in his father's real estate firm, shifted to American Can Co., later went into roofing. A broker since 1910, he became senior partner of F. M.
