Tired of being known only as "Brother Charlie," the late great William
Jennings Bryan's brother got himself elected Mayor of Lincoln, Neb. in
1915, went on to become threetime Governor of Nebraska, Democratic
candidate for Vice President in 1924. Last week in Lincoln, friends
crowded around to congratulate the Mayor-elect. Most of them still call
him "Brother Charlie."
