Transport: Drone, Dope, Door Hinges

¶In London last week was exhibited a midget plane known as the Drone: 16-h.p. motorcycle engine, cruises 50 mi. on a gallon of fuel, lands at 25 m.p.h., flown without dual instruction. Price: $1,375.

¶In New York last week Dr. Gordon M. Kline of the U. S. Bureau of Standards told the American Chemical Society that aviation's fire hazard could be conquered by a new kind of airplane "dope" which is noncombustible even when covered with burning gasoline. Content of the new "dope": cellulose acetate, boric acid, borax. Significance: possible revival of fabric instead...
