The University of Michigan last month stole a march and anticipated the honorary degree season by giving an LL. D. to Samuel Seabury, famed inquisitor of Tammany Hall. Last fortnight the College of Charleston (S. C.) held its commencement, announced it had intended giving an LL. D. to the late Rear Admiral William Adger Moffett who went down with the Akron.
