The University of Michigan last month stole a march and anticipated the honorary degree season by giving an LL. D. to Samuel Seabury, famed inquisitor of Tammany Hall. Last fortnight the College of Charleston (S. C.) held its commencement, announced it had intended giving an LL. D. to the late Rear Admiral William Adger Moffett who went down with the Akron. Last week Amherst College, at a special convocation, gave an LL. D. to Newton D. Baker. Citation: "Scholar in the fields of history and political science, leader in your chosen profession...
