In Washington last week John B. Chappie, 32-year-old editor of the Ashland (Wis.) Press, vociferous foe of La Follettism, announced his candidacy for the Senate from Wisconsin. As a "stalwart" he will try to take the Republican nomination away from Senator John J. Elaine, La Follette "Progressive," in the September primary.
