In Fort Worth, Tex., last fortnight a run began on the First National Bank, with deposits of $24,000,000. Calmly, bank officials ordered an orchestra to play in the lobby, had sandwiches served. Armored cars from the Dallas Federal Reserve bank delivered $5,000,000 in currency. W. T. Waggoner, oldtime Texas cowman and oil millionaire, told the crowd his millions were behind the bank; the governor of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas arrived, announced all the resources of the Federal Reserve were behind the bank.
