Last week Editor & Publisher turned specifically upon Edward L. Bernays, able Manhattan publicist (see above). Mr. Bernays, the magazine noted, had mailed "one of his familiar handouts" to New York newspapers, announcing that he was ready to make arrangements for newsgatherers when they journeyed to Dearborn, Mich., for the Edison-Ford celebration of light's golden jubilee. What gave rise to Editor & Publisher's wrath was the fact that Mr. Bernays' letter mentioned Herbert Clark Hoover.
