Work Done. The House of Representatives last week:

¶ Passed (264 to 147) the Tariff bill.

¶ Passed a bill authorizing the Treasury to borrow on new short-term securities.

¶ Adopted a resolution to accept a $4,000,000 art collection offered the U. S. by John Gellatly of New York.

¶ Adopted a resolution to pay the railroads $52,000,000 back compensation for carrying mail, as ordered by the Supreme Court.
