Aboard the He de France, French Line's new liner abuilding at St. Nazaire, will be a whiskey-beer bar 29 feet long, with sleek, shore-trained bartenders back of it. There will be a trottoir café 75 feet long with sure-footed waiters dodging among small iron tables. For good Catholics there will be a two-story chapel with altar, pews, replicas of the 14 stations of the cross, and pictures of Sts. Louis and Genevieve (patrons of the boat)—all to give Atlantic transients the illusion of being on land.
