In Boonton, N. J., the Board of Fire Wardens held a contest to raise funds for a new fire truck, asked the citizens of Boonton to guess how long it would take a fully wound watch to run down. One T. C. Carbonell guessed 34 hours 35 minutes. In 34 hours, 34 minutes, 52 seconds, the watch ran down.
