¶Confirmed the nomination of Irwin B. Laughlin to be Minister to Greece. ¶ Adopted unanimously, a resolution requesting that impeachment proceedings be brought against Clarence C. Chase, son-in-law of ex-Secretary Fall. ¶ Passed a bill wiping out a debt of $650,000 of the Near East Relief to the War Department on account of supplies furnished for relief work. ¶ Recommitted a resolution proposing an amendment to the Constitution, whereby all future amendments would have to be ratified by popular vote (TIME, March 10).
