In Chicago, the Chief of Police took steps to prevent "Freddie" Thompson, hermaphrodite acquitted of murder the previous week, from appearing in vaudeville on the ground that it would outrage public morality.

In St. Joseph, Mo. (according to a despatch in the Atchison, Kan., Globe), a young girl harbored in her stomach a live snake, which there deposited a litter of 15 or 20 young snakes. Waiting until the parent snake grew "hungry," physicians are reported to have introduced a piece of meat on the end of a thread and drawn the reptile out...
