M. Edouard Herriot, Mayor of Lyons, Socialist member of the Chamber of Deputies, who recently paid a visit to the U. S. (TIME, Oct. 1), again set foot on his native soil. Said he: " The Americans are a magnificent racebeautiful women and fine men." He kept his political impressions to himself and the only criticism to which he gave vent was of the U.
