At Forest Hills, L. I. last week, Helen Jacobs won the U. S. national tennis championship for the third year in a row. Last year, when Helen Wills Moody defaulted in the final, Miss Jacobs' victory lacked eclat, served to increase the un- reasonable antipathy with which U. S. galleries regard her.
