Business: Repeal Dividends

The noble, rich and proud lords of Scotch whiskeydom who sit on the board of Britain's Distillers Co., Ltd., smiled sedately last week at the good news their bearded, blind Board Chairman William H. Ross had for them:

"The advantages arising from the repeal of prohibition in the U. S. are one of the reasons enabling the company to restore dividends on the ordinary stock to 20%. [But Repeal benefits] are at present limited by an obvious shortage of money across the Atlantic to pay for commitments."
