Last week German censors banned Marlene Dietrich in The Song of Songs (Das Hohe Lied) on the ground that she was portraying an immoral character. In Vienna censors banned Mae West in She Done Him Wrong. Reason: "Nothing but uncouth and clumsy eroticism, appealing to the basest instincts."
