Edward M. Edwards of the Philadelphia Racquet and Tennis Club; the racquets championship of the U. S.; 15-9, 15-10, 14-18, 15-6, against Robert Grant of Harvard in the final; in Boston. Missing from last week's field which included almost all the two dozen or so first-class players in the U. S., were Clarence C. Pell, defending champion, Charles Devens, Harvard graduate and pitcher for the New York Yankees.
