¶Brookline's Country Club: the annual curling match (bowling on ice) for the Edwards Cup, against the Royal Montreal Club, 40-to-36; at Brookline. Mass. For the first time in the 35-year-old competition, the teams were tied (36-to-36) at the end of 14 ends, had to play off an extra end.

¶Mrs. William F. Howe Jr. of Boston, for the third time: the national women's squash racquets championship, from Miss Anne Page of Philadelphia in a five-game final, 15-9, 12-15, 12-15, 15-3, 15-10; in Manhattan.
