Art: Blumenthal Treasures

Because he has been one of its trustees since 1909, because he has served on its executive committee since 1910, because he gave it $1,000,000 cash in 1928, George Blumenthal, retired senior partner of the firm of Lazard Frères, was last week elected seventh president of New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art.
