When CWTA was formed a month ago. it was to spend $550,000,000 of Federal Funds to put 4,000,000 men to work by Dec. 15. Last week CWAdministrator Harry L. Hopkins informed the President that the quota had been reached. President Roosevelt immediately announced that, to carry the program past Feb. 15 when the funds will expire, he would ask Congress for another $350,000,000, keep CWA going until May 1.
