Aeronautics: Through Imperial

Imperial Airways runs from London to Cape Town, and to Karachi on India's west coast. For years Imperial has tried to extend its line to Australia, but the Indian Government stood in the way. Imperial might fly across if it wished, as do French and Dutch airlines, but it might not do passenger business on Indian soil. Last week came word that the impasse had been broken.
