Last week the following were news: Frederick Henry Bedford Jr. was elected president of Standard Alcohol Co., a new concern formed to handle Standard Oil Co. of New Jersey's manufacture of alcohol from petroleum. This branch of Standard's business was previously the subject of litigation with Petroleum Chemical Corp., owned by National Distillers and Barnsdall Corp— Now Petroleum Chemical Corp. will have a large stock interest in Standard Alcohol, settling the suits.
