Seventeen years ago in Chicago an attractive, blue-eyed miss named Katherine Dougherty got a $15-a-week job as assistant bookkeeper for a skimpy little pamphlet called Photoplay. Last week Miss Dougherty went from the Chicago to the Manhattan office of Photoplay to succeed the late James R. Quirk as president & publisher.
