In Newark, N. J., a sporting goods clerk showed a customer a hunting rifle, watched him load the gun. The customer pointed the weapon at the clerk, demanded money, got $75.


In Spring Lake, N. J., James Hogg, vermin exterminator, was arrested for reckless driving by Chief Elwood Lutz, fined by Justice of the Peace John H. Young.
