Campaigning for Mayor of Seattle, John Francis Dore (pronounced "door") promised, if elected, to "unhinge the door" to the office so that the public could walk freely in upon him. Last week Mr. Dore, a stocky, florid criminal lawyer, got a chance to make good his promise when the citizens of Seattle chose him for Mayor over Robert H. Harlin, incumbent, by a record-breaking majority vote. Born & bred in Massachusetts, Mayor-elect Dore went West 20 years ago, learned his law by lamplight while reporting police news for Seattle newspapers....
