Year and a half ago the proprietors of London's venerable Saturday Review (presumably backed by Lord Beaverbrook) ordered the editor to support the Beaverbrook-Rothermere plan of Free Trade within the Empire (TIME, March 3, 1930). The editor refused, quit, took practically his whole staff with him and founded The Week End Review. The Saturday Review never recovered.
