Bald eagles feed chiefly on carrion. Occasionally they snatch up water fowl, rabbits, fawns or lambs, or make the smarer, smaller osprey their catspaw for a fish diet. There is no authenticated caseeven in Spring, when hungry eaglets are yammering in the eyriesof a bald eagle attacking the young of the animal who has made him National Bird.
