In Manhattan, a customs inspector bent over a trunk. A bottle of Irish whiskey had broken in it, rousing his suspicions. He took four bottles which had not broken and was about to clear the trunk and its owner, one D. Fish of London, when from a bundle of laundry tumbled unexpectedly several little books of paper slips. They were lottery tickets. Further search of Mr. Fish's baggage revealed a total of 1,000,000 tickets on the Irish Free State Hospitals Sweepstakes on the Epsom Derby. Convinced that the U.
