When Robert Tyre Jones Jr. of Atlanta marched off the eleventh green at Merion Cricket Club with the world's four major golf titles safely in hand (TiME, Oct. 6) it was generally understood that he would continue competitive golf. He stated that he would not retire. Last week he announced: He is definitely out of tournament golf; will continue his career as an Atlanta barrister; will presently make a series of one-reel cinemas for Warner Bros., "purely educational in character."
