Up to the White House portico rolled a borrowed automobile. Crowds gaped at the front seat, stacked with two suitcases and a worn valise, and at the back seat, occupied by Col. Charles Augustus Lindbergh & Wife. They got out, entered the White House. Governor Leslie of Indi- ana, loitering in the lobby, stepped forward for a handshake.
