Business & Finance: Canadian Milestone

In all Canada there are only ten banks, each with many branches. For a long period the quickest growing of these was the Royal Bank, which by 1927 held 26.09% of Canada's banking resources. Last week the Royal Bank became the Dominion's first billion-dollar bank, when it reported that total assets for the year ended Nov. 30 were $1,001,442,741—a gain of about $92,000,000 during the year.
