Medicine: Colored Nurses

The National Association of Colored Graduate Nurses met in New York City last week and uttered plaints. The U. S. Negro population is about 10,000,000 and only 365 colored graduate nurses exist to look after their sickness. Only one of the 365 has a bachelor of science degree. Their number is small because not one Southern college offers them training. They must travel north for education. That entails an expense which few Negresses can afford. Scholarships help them out.
