At London's annual automobile show, orders amounting to between £60,000,000 & £70,000,000 ($291,975,000 & $340,937,500) were last week placed, some dealers contracting for their entire 1928 output. Tiny four-cylinder cars with 7 ½-foot wheelbase, capable of 40 miles to a gallon of gasoline, proved most popular. Price: £135 to £160 ($657 to $779).

For the third quarter, the number of General Motors Corp. stockholders decreased from 57,595 (second quarter) to 57,190. The greatest number of stockholders on record was during the second quarter of 1922—72,665.†
